- General information
Birmingham Pedal Tours offers a safe and eco-friendly way to tour the Magic City. Our pedal-powered trolleys take groups of up to 40 passengers to some of Birmingham’s best watering holes. Public and private tours are available – our bikes are great for pub crawls, birthday celebrations, bachelor/bachelorette parties, company outings, brewery tours, sightseeing, themed nights out and more!
****PRO-TIP**** BRING CASH! This will be the quickest way for your group to tab out and move on!
We insist your group make prior arrangements to arrive and depart via Uber, Lyft, or have a designated driver.
- Alcohol policy
Canned beer and wine are allowed on our pedal tour bikes. Glass and liquor are strictly prohibited. Beverages brought on our bikes need to be placed on the bike at your meeting point and must be sealed. DO NOT ENTER YOUR PICKUP POINT WITH A COOLER, TUMBLER, OR PACKAGE (PLACE IT ON THE BIKE FIRST). Beer and wine brought on the bike will remain onboard for the entire tour. Any remaining beverages will be disposed of upon completion of your tour by your guide. Do not bring more than you can handle responsibly.

Birmingham Pedal Tours puts you in control. You can bring your own food and snacks (eating and pedaling has proven to be a challenging task) but if you’re up for it…so are we! Play your own music (please have a playlist ready to go), and let us take care of the driving. *For a custom route please email us at i[email protected].
- How many people can ride?
We have two bikes that can hold up to 14 people and our driver. There are 10 pedaling seats (five on each side), and four non-pedaling seats. We also have a smaller six-passenger bike that can hold four to six people. Four pedaling seats and two non-pedaling.
- Are there any height or weight limitations?
To pedal comfortably you must be at least 5’3″. If you’re not, don’t stress…take the bench seat! Unfortunately, due to the type of vehicle, customers over 325 lbs will not be able to comfortably pedal, but again, you may choose the bench seat.
- Is this thing hard to pedal?
Everyone pedals together, making it relaxing and fun! We also have an electric assist motor which can help move things along if needed. We recommend having at least six people pedaling, otherwise, you’ll be in for a serious workout!
- Is this dangerous?
With any moving vehicle, there is some risk involved. However, our drivers are there to keep you as safe as possible. If you’re still worried, we are happy to provide you with a helmet!
- What if it's raining?
Birmingham Pedal Tours operates rain or shine! Our large awning will do its best to keep you dry. If it’s going to rain, we recommend you dress accordingly. We only cancel tours if there are unsafe conditions and a rain check will be issued.
- Can I cancel or reschedule my tour?
Cancellation Policy: If you cancel 14+ days prior to your reservation we will give you a full refund. If you cancel 5-13 days prior to your reservation we will give you a rain check to use later in the season or next season if it’s at the end of the season. Cancellations within four days of the tour will not receive any type of refund.
